Whether you are off to a weekend getaway or for a holiday you have planned and anticipated for months, you do want to look your best. This isn’t the time to worry about if you are looking slim or tall enough, but a time to pick the right clothes and accessories to make you look and feel fabulous.

Clothes
You would, of course, have to choose clothes according to the season and the place you are visiting. Once you have the place and climate in mind, list out the clothes you think you would need. If you are going some place tropical and warm then the first thing to add to your bag is a great swimsuit or a bikini. Keep a wraparound skirt or a light kaftan handy to wear over your swimsuit. Now opt for light tops, skirts, Capri style pants and shorts. As for shoes, you would want sandals that are comfortable for the daytime and elegant heels for your evenings out. Don’t forget to add some pretty evening wear. Pack your little black dress and also a dress that is light and informal. Add a hat, a light scarf and a good sunscreen, and you are almost packed. It’s a good idea to plan a visit to your beautician for a hair trim, manicure and pedicure before you leave for your holiday.

Most of us tend to over pack for our holidays. If you are going for a week then it is a good idea to have about seven to eight days of informal clothes such as jeans, pants and tops and three or four formal or semi formal dresses for your evenings. Add a sweater or two if you are headed for colder climes and also a great wrap in a neutral color. Don’t forget to pack your thermal clothing. Pack a scarf or two to keep you warm and also to add some glamour to your outfit. If you intend to spend a fair amount of time exploring the area you are visiting, then pack comfortable walking or hiking shoes. Also pack a pair of heels in a color that matches most of your formal wear.

Wearing well fitting lingerie makes you feel and look great. Pack at least five or six pairs, do add seamless underclothing if you require it under form fitting clothing.

Makeup and Hair
Carry the hair care and skin care products that you usually use and also add a hair dryer to help style your hair. You may want to ask your cosmetologist for any additional products you may need for your holiday. For instance if you are headed for the mountains you could add a bottle of moisturizer rich in cocoa butter or aloe vera, to keep your skin soft and supple. You may want to keep your day makeup minimal but may want a more sensuous look for the evenings. It is a good idea to practice a few times before it is time for your holiday.
