What to do when you want to look great after a long day

You have had a long day at work, your feet are aching and what you would truly like to do is get into bed and fall asleep or put your feet up and watch your favorite sitcom. But, you have plans for the evening and you need to look and feel gorgeous. Your appearance is strongly affected by how you feel. So, when you are getting ready for an evening out you have to focus on your inner self as much as you need to choose the right clothes and makeup.

Relax
Take a luxurious bath or shower with your favorite shower gel or bath oils. Allow the day’s stress to seep out as you cleanse your body. Pay close attention to your face and your feet. Clean your face of makeup and let the skin breathe for a bit. Use a foot massage cream to help your feet relax.

Makeup
The eyes, they say, are the mirror of the soul. Going by that logic, they are the first to give out hints of fatigue and stress. Use white eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger, without adding color to it. Now opt for eye makeup that suits your clothing and look; preferably stay away from dark tones. Create a thin line with the eyeliner, rather than a thick one. Apply your mascara well, so that it covers every eyelash. Pay close attention to your lower eyelashes.

If you have dark circles under your eyes, use a concealer to cover them. Try to opt for a natural look, but do pay special attention to accentuate certain features such as your lips and highlight your cheekbones well. A smile on your face will make you look and feel great.  

Clothes
Choose a dress that you know you look great in, and it is sure to do wonders for your confidence. Opt for something that is easy to carry off and doesn’t require too much of your attention. Add just the right accessories, but don’t overdo it. Wear a perfume that makes you feel confident and energized. Finally, choose shoes that are comfortable. The last thing you need is to spend the evening in shoes that hurt your feet.

Add some energy
It is a good idea to have a glass or two of water while you get ready to dress. The water helps clear out the toxins in the body and leaves it refreshed. Also snack on a fruit such as an apple or a banana that will boost your energy. A piece of chocolate or a mint will also leave a pleasant flavor in your mouth and keep you excited over the evening that is about to unfold.
