Clothes do make the person. In fact your clothes give a fair estimation of how you treat yourself. Unfortunately, many a time women don’t wear clothes that are their size, or fit their shape well. This makes them look shabby and unattractive. The most important thing to remember when you are out shopping for clothes is to know your size and shape. Here are some tips to help you avoid clothes that you should not be wearing.

Don’t wear this if:

You have a pear shaped body: A pear shape is characterized by a bigger lower body and it is important that you stay clear of certain styles of clothing. These include tight fitting clothes for the lower part of the body. So tights, fitting trousers and skirts are a no-no for you. Instead, opt for pants and skits that have well structured and flowing lines. Tops and blouses that have an interesting neckline or design should be the focal point of your attire.

You have an inverted pear shape: The top half of your body is heavier than the lower half. Choose clothes that bring attention to the lower part of your body instead of the top. Opt for simple designs and styles for the top half. You could try wearing a flared skirt and team them up with a darker top. Do ensure that you wear a bra that fits you well.

You have an apple shape: In this case you need to ensure that you don’t wear baggy clothing that hides your body. Stay away from clothes that are either too tight or too loose. Choose clothes that fit you well, and opt for designs and styles that take away attention from the middle. Choose clothes that flow well and opt for dresses that have an interesting and intricate design or work.

You have an hour glass shape: Your top and bottom half are heavy and your clothing should try to offer a balancing affect. Keep away from baggy clothing and avoid wearing full length jackets that make you look bigger than you are. Also try to avoid bright and loud colors. Don’t wear tight fitting tops or those that tend to gather around your bust line. Opt for clothing that focuses on your slim waist. Add an interesting belt to your attire and it will make your attire look more appealing. For a business look opt for pencil skirt and well fitted jackets.

You have a boyish shape: Opt for shorter skirts and dresses and avoid long flowing dresses that hide your figure. Also avoid short cropped tops. Wear pretty and dainty footwear to add to the affect you hope to create with your dress. If you have small bust line, avoid plunging necklines and opt for high necklines.

It is important that you dress well and according to the shape and size of your body. Create your own sense of style by paying close attention to your body shape and what suits it. What may look great on a mannequin may not look as great on you, so consider the essentials on what not wear.
