Long nails look great if they are well groomed and cared for. They should also be kept to a length that makes them look and feel good. Nails shouldn’t resemble claws that are sure to scare people! It isn’t the length of the nails that make them look attractive but the manner in which they are cared for. Nails need to be trimmed and groomed often, and a regular manicure can do wonders for them.
Do remember that your nails grow out of your nail bed. And while the nails are made of keratin, a type of protein, and that they are not sensitive, your nail bed is. The nail bed provides the root and support to your nails. Thus, any damage to the nails causes damage and pain to the nail bed. Instead of waiting for your nail to grow long and trim them, set aside some time every week to file your nails. Experts recommend that filing the nails with an emery file is better than cutting them with a metal nail cutter or using a metal file.
