Oily skin is a problem for a lot of people because of the imbalanced hormones we have in our bodies. It is usually experience by teenagers but oily skin can occur at any age. It is also accompanied with other different skin problems such as acne, pimples, zits, blemishes, and others.
Some of the most common causes of oily skin are hereditary problems and hygiene issues. Other causes of oily skin involve wrong diet or having an unbalanced diet and hormonal levels too. In addition, it is very common for pregnant women and those people who use birth control pills alongside with people that use different types of cosmetics. The humidity and the hot weather cause the skin to be oily.
You have to wash your face with warm water with soap. You have to do this daily at least 2-3 times a day. Warm water can help remove the dirt from the pores effectively. Also, you have to make sure you do not use hot water since it can make the pores bigger. Use the right type of soap for you; do not use soap that contains strong ingredients. Use something that has moisturizer in it too and something that is made for oily type of skin. You can also use a cleanser as an alternative.
After washing your face, you must let it dry without using towels since they are rough and can affect the texture of your skin. Use something smooth to dry your face. Then, you have to apply some toner and then a moisturizer.
Also you can use some of the following oils to prevent oily skin: bergamot, cypress, juniper, lavender, cedarwood, frankincense, sage and the lemon too.
There are also some herbs for oily skin and they are: aloe vera, chamomile, burdock root and thyme can help to nurture your skin. Witch hazel is also good for absorbing some oil in the skin. You can also try facial sauna with lemon grass, licorice root and some rose buds too.
Moreover, you have to remember such things like avoiding stress. Stress strains the body and can make the skin sweat and oily. Also, you have to get enough proper sleep and rest. Eat a lot of nutritious and healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables; avoid oily ones and junk foods. Eat foods rich in iron and Vitamins B2 and E as well. Avoid soft drinks and other beverages; a lot of water is enough for the skin to be hydrated.
Lastly, if things do not go well, you can of course always visit your dermatologist and he could pinpoint the specific causes for your oily skin. He can also develop a special or personal treatment regimen for you and prescribed you specific products you could buy from the market and drug stores.
