The eyebrows not only help define and highlight the eyes, but also have a balancing affect on the face. A face can be given a softer or longer look simply by shaping the eyebrows well. Having thicker eyebrows gives you the freedom to try out various eyebrow shapes. The natural shape of your eyebrows will be the start point of how they can be shaped; though an eyebrow pencil can also be used to extend the eyebrow and give it a fuller look.
If you have thin eyebrows, you may think that there is little that you can do with them. Here are some great tips and practical ideas that will help you gain thick eyebrows.
- Get a stylist to shape your eyebrows. This will ensure that you make the best of what you have and shape your eyebrows to suit your face. The eyebrows will look neater and offer a great shape to your face.
- Now that your eyebrows have been shaped, you can use an eyebrow pencil to fill the areas where you would like a thicker and fuller appearance. You can also create the arch that you want, if it isn’t possible to do so with your natural eyebrows. Do ensure that you make short strokes like hair rather than creating a long line on the brows. Also remember to match the color of the pencil to your eyebrows. Choose a color that is a shade or two lighter than your hair and blends in easily with your natural eyebrow.
- To stimulate the growth of the eyebrows ask your aesthetician to recommend a topical growth serum. An eyebrow serum is rich in vitamins and minerals that help your eyebrow hair grow well. Apply it every night before you go to bed.
- Use an eyebrow brush to settle your hair in the shape that you want them. This helps them spread out and gives the illusion of thicker eyebrows. You may also like to use eyebrow gel to ensure that the shape remains all through the day.
- Many women recommend the use of castor oil for thick eyebrows. Apply a few drops before you go to bed at night, and clean it off in the morning.
- For a more permanent solution consider hair transplant to the eyebrows.
Sometimes women may start with thick eyebrows that thin out because of plucking too much hair. It could also be that you have plucked out hair in a hurry and now have thinner eyebrows than what you would like. In this case, it is a good idea to only clear away unwanted and stray hair at the eyebrow and give the rest a chance to grow back. If you are plucking the hair yourself then use a white eyebrow pencil to draw out the shape that you desire. Now, only remove the hair that falls outside the line. Do remember that it takes over six to eight weeks for the eyebrow hair to grow back.
