Methodical foot care- does it really help?

Foot is one of the most important parts of the body though it keeps us mobile. Without foot leg is nothing.

So it’s important to take care and visit your doctor about your foot on a regular basis. Be kind to your feet to keep your body healthy. There are a few basic steps for taking care about foot.

  1. Examine your feet regularly- various condition like edema first seen at foot. Edema is the most common feature of congestive cardiac failure. Also who travels in plane or work for prolonged time in office also have the problem. In that case don’t be frightened. Just put a pillow under your foot during taking rest. At morning situation should be improved.
  2. Wear comfortable shoes those feet. Sometimes they can press your leg so tightly that it can obstruct the vein resulting in gangrene.
  3. Wash your feet daily with soap and lukewarm water so that no threadworm or any other microorganism that penetrate our body through perforation of skin can be removed.
  4. Trim your toenails straight across and not too short. Long toenails are very unhealthy. Even during break they produce severe bleeding

Your foot health can be a clue to your overall health condition. For example, joint stiffness could mean arthritis which can easily be prevented by not wearing tight shoes. Tingling or numbness could be a sign of diabetes or peripheral nerve damage. This is a serious condition but you can know about the problem long time before it affects the brain.

Stiffened feet can affect our ability to work which will make you uncomfortable at your daily livelihood like at home, playground everywhere. Thankfully, many foot conditions can be easily treated by wearing properly fitting footwear and following basic health rules.

It is our feet that bear the weight of our body. So it is very important to take proper care of it in a regular basis.
