Bad Romance Style by Lady Gaga

Editor Francis Lawrence, who previously worked with Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Gwen Stefani and Shakira, brings up a new video with Lady Gaga. In the video Gaga shows several fascinating costumes, make-up and hair styles. There is also shown an interesting choreography and a Lady Gaga without make-up and “half nude”.

At the start famous singer is surrounded by characters from her previous spots, but then she is kidnapped and turned into something completely new, very sexy and at the same time a bit scary - her new alter ego on the tour and the coming new version of the album – “Fame Monster”.

However, this just shows that in the oncoming season artificial eyelashes are proving to be an absolute hit. The eyelashes become spotlight, while the rest of the face stays with minimal make-up. Lady Gaga style introduces us with false lashes and pale make-up like a twisted cabaret dancer or ceramic doll. Intense volumized jet black or any other colour mascara, applied in several coats, or glittered lashes to make stronger effect.

Better yet, Lady Gaga’s eye make-up also contains black liquid liner, which is must have. Finishing eye with black line and with black powder shadow is just to recreate usual depths known from the queen of drama. Lipstick colours are complete arsenal ranging from the palest frosted pink to the brightest rouge. So if you wish to have doll look you must have pale tan and lips.

In the Mark Jacobs show, this summer, long eyelashes for the impression of an innocent look was the technique used by make-up artist Dick Page. In addition to that, the eyes of all models were with long artificial lashes, and the rest of the face had only powder and pink blush lipstick. And he was not the only one. Italian fashion trade shows, like the one Versace had in Milan and New York, were glamorous exactly because of golden shadow and artificial eyelashes coated with a thick layer of mascara. Lips on models were only with little transparent lip-gloss. Moreover, other designers, for their fashion shows, used feather lashes to induce viewer into fairy tale and make fantasy from eyes. However, despite feather lashes look sensational they are probably useful detail only for carnivals and stage make-up.

Let’s go back to Lady Gaga and her style. Each one of her video spots is a true work of art. As mentioned before, in Bad Romance she changes several different costumes, which since the video showed up, can be seen in almost all fashion editorials of Vogue, Flair, Vanity Fair from Italy and others. Without doubt she manages to attract greatest attention worldwide, linking perfectly her music talent with fashion. Costumes used in video are originally designed by Lady Gaga and Francis Lawrence, editor of the video. According to that, she once said that all her darkest psycho thoughts are re-created in the remarkable dresses and shoes appearing in the video, which you can see here. And responsible for the amazing look of the shoes is famous Alexandar McQueen.

Today, after a couple of months since video came out, costumes in “Bad Romance” have become best sellers on web pages like E-bay. For example, the top made of chain, beads, rhinestones and wire. Chain bib with a silver bead is attached to the necklace, strategically placed over the breast area. Another chain goes around the back, and attaches at the side to keep it in place. Under this top doesn’t go anything, but top is fully encrusted with rhinestones on chains which are hanging. For the lucky fan this could become a perfect New Year outfit!
